Guinea is interested in developing commercial relations with all countries. In accord with the program to support growth and development through the private sector, commercial and tariff regulations have been revised to stress individual initiative and free enterprise. State trading has almost ceased since 1984.
Guinea is now a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) but did not participate in the Uruguay Round of multilateral trade negotiations. Guinea has not yet adhered to any the accords or codes negotiated under the old General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) organization's auspices.
