Technically the Government of Guinea no longer permits countertrade or barter in international trade. It may be requested by a private importer, though trade by barter is now little employed in Guinea.
rices for all goods other than imported rice and petroleum products were decontrolled in 1986 and the private sector was permitted to engage freely in all levels of internal and external marketing.
Private Guinean traders can now import freely, the government having ended in 1992 its prior monopoly on imports of petroleum and pharmaceuticals.
